ABOUT THE OWNER
Rosalind Cimino has been involved in Municipal operations for 20+ years. She currently serves as the Director of Central and Information Services, Information Security Officer and Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) for the Village of Port Chester, NY.
Through her experiences as an IT Director, Information Security Officer, Webmaster and ECMS manager, she knows first hand the struggles municipalities face to secure their electronic data while providing more updated services to their constituents. She has experience in various areas working in the Towns of Dover, Beekman, North Castle, Port Chester and Mamaroneck, NY. and not for profit agencies such as the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Joint Sanitation Commission and the Port Chester Industrial Development Agency She has also served as a Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals member in the Town of Dover, NY where she created the only local GIS Department in Dutchess County. Building upon and using the experiences she has gained working in virtually every department in a municipality, Rosalind has been able to create a wholistic approach to the overall security and continuity of software applications across the entire environment. This reduces the cost of unnecessary hardware purchases and streamlines the various software applications in each department.
Rosalind has been a guest speaker at the 2008 NYS Cyber Security Conference, where she provided attendees with an overview of IT in local governments. She assists NYS Records Archives Region directors with their Policies and Procedures workshops. Her work has been featured in the Penn State “Where in the World” publication, as well as NYS Geographic Information Systems Technology News.
Her education includes earning her GIS Certification at Penn State University, Public Interest Technology Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University and is a member of the Laserfiche Certified Professional Program and a PCI Certified Professional.
Rosalind served on the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Local Government Committee on Cyber Security. Its primary function is to create non-technical Information Guides to assist local governments manage their IT internal controls.
